Humming Breath

This is an unusual way to bring yourself back to balance. In yoga it's called Bhramari Pranayam, or Humming Bee Breath, and the full practice incorporates some hand positioning that can be too much when you're stressed. This is a simplified version to get you started.


If you don't feel too silly, you can do it anywhere, and interestingly enough it's something that many of us do automatically that we won't recognize. For example, I find that I do a short hum when I'm angry and need to bring myself back from the edge of fury. Try it, put it in your toolbox, and see if it begins to help!
